Tsukiji Market 築地市場 (Tsukiji shijō) has an amazing fish market. There were so many interesting traditional foods and of course plenty of fresh fish.
Ever wondered where Wasabi came from? This plant is pretty expensive about 9 – 14 USD per piece.
Many Japanese traditional preserved side dishes.
There are so many little sushi restaurants in the market. I really recommend this one, located inside an alleyway within the market. Away from the busy street, it felt cozy and quiet.
I met randomly met Takuya in New York City when he visited the Columbia University campus in 2008. We kept in touch via email and met once more about two years ago in New York City. We didn’t know if it would ever happen but we hoped to meet in Japan one day. That day was today! I really love how God brings special connections to our lives. Every person we meet is a wonderful blessing. In this world of billions how wonderful when we cross paths.
We enjoyed catching up as we watched the skill of our sushi chef.
Thank you Takuya! What a great experience ^.^ 有り難う御座います!
Looks really good! I remember having really good sushi near Ueno too. A queue would always form outside. 🙂
